On the afternoon of November 29th in 2016, the first session of the 1st ECC Council was held in Beijing. Attendees included Yu Haibin, Director of Shenyang Institute of Automation of Chinese Academy of Sciences, the entity that assumes the roles of executive director and chair of the ECC; Liu Shaowei, President of Huawei Network R&D Dept; Xu Heyuan, General Engineer of Technical Standards Institute of Chinese Academy of Information and Communications Technology; Chen Wei, General Manager of Intel Corporation's IoT Service Dept for China; Geng Lifeng, Market Manager of IoT Application in China Region of ARM Holdings; Cao Xiaobing, Vice President of Strategic Cooperation Dept of iSoftStone; Chen Enyi, Director of R&D and Innovation Dept of Honeywell (China) Co., Ltd; Du Zhenjun, Deputy Director of Strategic Cooperation and Key Projects Dept of Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd.

Conference Site of the First Session of the 1st ECC Council

At the conference, the council deliberated and adopted: the proposal of adding two new ECC executive directors, Honeywell (China) and Siasun Robot & Automation Co., Ltd, and 54 council members; the appointment of the ECC council, secretariat, advisory committee, and four working groups; the suggestion of hiring 47 specialists for the ECC advisory committee; the Edge Computing Consortium Constitution.

Additionally, members at the conference discussed the key work and orientation of the ECC in 2017, and the 2017 work plans of Requirement and System Group, Technical Standards Group, Experiment Platform Group, and Market Promotion and Cooperation Group.
