On September 14, 2017, 32 Industrial Internet Consortium (IIC) members voted to establish the Networking Task Group at the IIC Q3 2017 Member Meeting in Singapore. David Lou, expert of Huawei's German Research Center (GRC) in Munich, and Jan Höller, technical expert of Ericsson and Schneider, were elected as the group co-chairs.
As a Task Group of the IIC's Technology Working Group, the Networking Task Group is responsible for identifying and analyzing requirements, trends, and technologies for various OT scenarios, and for researching reference architectures for the physical, MAC, and IP layers in the context of Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) to guide future IIoT deployment.
